Intravenous Immunoglobulin
Intravenous Immunoglobulin, commonly referred to as IVIg, is a vital treatment derived from healthy human blood to support the immune system in its fight against infections and certain inflammatory conditions. IVIg consists of immunoglobulins, which are complex proteins produced by the immune system to help ward off illness. Utilised in various inflammatory diseases that involve the immune system’s overactivity, IVIg helps to moderate the immune response. This therapy pools immunoglobulins from multiple donors, all rigorously screened to ensure the absence of transmissible diseases such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV, making IVIg a safe and effective treatment for eligible patients. Michael Hanna is dedicated to providing his patients with comprehensive care options, including IVIg therapy, tailored to support their health and well-being.

In May 2010, the Department of Health published guidelines – based on scientific evidence – for physical activity in the general population. The research showed that regular physical activity and exercise reduce the risk of many common diseases, such as heart disease, type II diabetes and certain cancers. It also showed that it is important for improving long-term health and wellbeing.
